The NEXUS project has released a new interview video featuring members of its External Advisory Board (EAB), together with consortium partner UITP. The video presents expert perspectives on the project’s innovations and their potential application in future metro and urban public transport systems.
Drawing on their experience in the rail and public transport sector, the External Advisory Board members discuss a range of topics addressed by NEXUS, including artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance, advanced traffic management, network simulations, and the digital transformation of metro operations. The interviews consider how these technologies could support improvements in operational efficiency, resource management, service quality, and the ability of metro systems to respond to changing passenger demand.
The video also highlights the importance of collaboration between operators, industry, research organisations, and public authorities in supporting innovation across the urban rail sector. In addition to the contributions from the External Advisory Board, consortium partner UITP shares its perspective on the future of metro systems and public transport, reflecting on the role of cooperation and knowledge exchange in supporting the uptake of new technologies.
Produced by UITP, the video complements the NEXUS interview series by providing an external view of the project’s work and its relevance to the future development of urban rail mobility.
The video is now available to watch on the NEXUS YouTube channel and here:
